Compensation:

• Weekly Gross: $2,482.00 Per Week
• On W2(Taxable): $648.00 Per Week ($18/hour)
• Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,834.00 Per Week

Job Description:

The ICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct and critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions at Norton Community Hospital, a Ballad Health facility. RNs in this role will function independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, using evidence-based practices and clinical judgment to assess, plan, and implement high-quality care for complex cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous nursing care and monitoring to critically ill adult patients
• Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using advanced interventions
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
• Use and monitor critical care equipment such as ventilators, pumps, and invasive lines
• Document all patient interactions accurately in EMR
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor to nursing students and support their clinical education
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Required Certifications:

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification - Preferred

Qualifications:

• Active RN License (Virginia or Compact) - Required at submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience is a plus
• Must be willing and able to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• BSN required for international travelers
