Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Solutions Architect to join our Product Development team with responsibilities for staging and testing our 5G Anyhaul Ethernet transport products. This position requires an in-depth understanding of Layer 2/3 Data Networking technologies and knowledge of designing, building, emulating, and staging customer/test networks in a customer facing lab environment.

What you'll do

The successful candidate will design, build, and stage customer/test networks in the lab. The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:
  • Support Business Development by understanding customer requirements, developing a technical strategy and solution to meet needs, as well as presenting the solution and value proposition to customers/partners.
  • Canoga Perkins has a state-of-the-art 5G demonstration lab. The candidate will keep current on all lab developments, changes, and demo procedures by periodically interfacing with Product Development.
  • The candidate must be able to execute and clearly explain any of the demonstrations created in the 5G lab and, therefore, must master the configuration of the equipment therein.
  • Design, build and provision end-to-end solutions that demonstrate technology leadership featuring Canoga Perkins as well as partner products that are then featured in our lab.
  • At all times, be up to date on product development and roadmap for the 5G products. The candidate must feed back all relevant information and technical/features requested by customers to the Product Team.
  • Monitor network performance, system resource utilization and perform scalability testing
  • Support the successful adoption of the 5G product at the customer by providing technical support.
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time for customer meetings, conferences, and other events. Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
What we're looking for

The successful candidate will have experience in or knowledge of:
  • Knowledge of 4G/5G RAN and Fronthaul Architecture.
  • Good understanding of switching/routing concepts and ethernet technologies.
  • 3GPP and O-RAN technologies for the Radio Access Network (4G/5G) and 5G New Radio
  • Cloud, virtualization and containerization, especially hyperscalers offerings for Mobile Edge Compute
  • Wireless (802.11, 3GPP) and wireline (Ethernet, IP, MPLS) LAN technologies
  • IEEE 802.1 LAN/MAN bridging technologies, with special emphasis on TSN
  • IETF routing standards, such as IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, SRv6, SR-MPLS, etc.
  • Performance management for IP and Ethernet networks
  • Curious and willing to learn and challenge the status quo.
What would be useful

It would be useful and advantageous for the candidate to have experience in or knowledge of:
  • Software Defined Networking
  • Data center architecture and Orchestration technologies
  • URLLC and Time-Sensitive Networking
  • Network specific needs for deployments in the areas of Industrial IoT, Cyber-physical systems engineering, and Enterprise AI
  • AWS and Microsoft Azure tools and deployments
  • Ability to implement and test application deployment scenarios which highlight our product strengths.
Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field or on the job-related experience
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation and customer-facing skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Collaborate in a friendly, energetic, cross-functional, and open environment
The salary range for this position is $129,937 - $158,812+. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
