Key Responsibilities: - Design and build a scalable, low-latency, fault-tolerant streaming data platform that provides timely and meaningful insights.
- Develop next-generation Distributed Streaming Data Pipelines and Analytics Data Stores using streaming frameworks (Flink, Spark Streaming) with programming languages such as Java, Scala, and Python.
- Create robust data pipelines leveraging big data technologies (Spark, Flink, Kafka, Snowflake, AWS Big Data Services, Redshift) handling medium to large scale datasets.
- Work within a team that emphasizes collaboration and creativity, following agile methodologies focused on CI/CD, and maintaining high application resiliency standards in partnership with Cyber & Security teams.
- Stay updated on tech trends, participate in technology communities, and provide mentorship to fellow engineers in our community.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain comprehensive solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.
- Work alongside developers with expertise in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems.
- Engage with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans in their financial journeys.
- Perform unit testing and conduct thorough code reviews to ensure high-quality standards in design, structure, and performance.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in application development (no internship experience considered)
- At least 1 year of experience with big data technologies
Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in application development with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- 2+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- 3+ years of experience with Distributed data computing tools (Kafka, Spark, Flink)
- 2+ years of experience with real-time data and streaming applications
- 2+ years of experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, OpenSearch)
- 2+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)
- 3+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux including shell scripting
- 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices

This position is available in McLean, VA with a salary range of $158,600 - $181,000 or in Plano, TX with a salary range of $144,200 - $164,600. Actual salaries are determined at the time of hiring and may vary based on location.
