Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer (Java & Node) to join our Digital Technology Team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancements of digital products to deliver exceptional digital experiences.

With a focus on RESTful API development in Node.js, this role involves hands-on programming, participation in design sessions, code reviews, system testing, and adherence to best industry practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design APIs, develop shippable code, document, and unit test new features for digital products.
Collaborate with API Developers, Team Leads, and Architects to deliver features through reusable RESTful APIs.
Work with Quality, Product, and Cloud Engineering teams to ensure digital assets are secure, functional, and up-to-date.
Perform pair programming, communicate effectively with the team, assist in systems integration, and participate in performance testing and product releases.
Implement policies, roles, data access controls, monitor events, and resolve system/data issues to ensure continuous API functionality.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of API/server-side development experience with JavaScript, Node.js, Java, C#, or equivalent backend technologies.
2+ years of experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including Lambda, EC2, and serverless architecture.
Proficiency in microservices development, CI/CD solutions (including Docker), message queue systems, and background task management.
Experience developing NoSQL databases, designing data models, and querying document stores (preferably MongoDB).
Strong knowledge of API security frameworks, token management, and user access control, including OAuth, JWT, and OpenAPI.
Demonstrated strong programming skills in JavaScript.
Familiarity with API Gateway, CDNs, API performance testing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
