Position Summary
LOCATED IN KEARNEY, NE

The Director of Operations at the UNMC Douglas A. Kristensen Rural Health Education Complex (RHEC) serves as the administrator for the shared operations and personnel supporting the UNMC Colleges of Allied Health Professions, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Public Health and as the primary liaison to the college administrators and the community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, hiring and supervision of all shared staff positions, administration of human resource policies and procedures, serving as the liaison to UNK facilities for buildings management, providing fiscal oversight and management of shared resources, procurement, and serving as the single point of contact for community engagement. The Director of Operations will report to the UNMC Assistant Vice Chancellor for Health Workforce Education Relations (TBD), while also working closely with the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Business & Finance, the Interprofessional Leadership Council and the lead college administrators (Associate and Assistant Deans) of each UNMC college.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to problem solve by critically evaluating alternative courses of action and arriving at solutions that are best for both the unit/ college and UNMC.
2. Working knowledge of related technological resources/ software to include SAP and MS Office suite.
3. Demonstrated style of participatory leadership that fosters a climate of respect and collegiality to include competency regarding: conflict management, supervision, mentoring and team building.
4. Position requires regular and consistent attendance in the office.
5. Position may require occasional evening and weekend hours, travel within and outside of the state.
6. Proficiency in analytic reasoning to formulate budgets and administrative policies and processes.
7. Demonstrated understanding of regulatory framework and internal controls and ability to apply them within the business unit/college.
8. Knowledge of when to elevate an issue to a supervisor.
