Senior Data Engineer - Operational Data

Physicians Mutual is hiring a Sr. Data Engineer in our Enterprise Technology Group. The selected candidate will design, develop, test and maintain scripts and jobs that are required to extract, transform, clean and load data into operational data stores.  Mentor less experienced designers and serve as a project technical lead for mid-sized data projects.   

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelorâ??s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 6 years of IT experience, to include at least 5 yearsâ?? progressive experience in relational database management systems.
• Must have strong SQL.
• Must have strong programming skills using Python/PySpark.
• Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., DataStage, Informatica) is a must
• Strong understanding of current and prospective data architecture and database / SQL performance tuning.

Preferred:

• Strong SQL programming skills in a DB2 environment
• Strong SQL programming skills in SQL Server environment
• Workday programming experience
• Experience with Docker/Jenkins.
• Experienced mentoring jr data engineers
