The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach with the coordination of all phases of a competitive NJCAA Division I athletic program. This is a great opportunity for someone who has some coaching experience in the following areas: Coaching, recruiting, budget management, travel management, rules and eligibility compliance, administrative duties, departmental fundraising, camps, game management, academic advising,
marketing, promotions, and public relations.

Job Duties

Overall
â?¢ Assist in all areas of the womenâ??s soccer program as assigned by the Head Coach
â?¢ Assist in practice/game planning, team tactics, and scouting
â?¢ Oversee all aspects of the JV Team including travel and match scheduling
â?¢ Work with student-athletes in individual/small group sessions
â?¢ Develop professional and trusting relationships with womenâ??s soccer staff and team
Recruitment
â?¢ Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes
â?¢ Identify and evaluate talent
â?¢ Assignments to attend games, practices, tournaments, showcases, etc.
â?¢ Assist the Head Coach in scheduling, directing, and attending ID Camps
â?¢ Organize, track, and communicate with all recruits using ARI software
â?¢ Proficient communication via phone calls, texting, email, mailings, social media, and meetings with each recruit
â?¢ Plan and organize in-home and/or campus visits
â?¢ Constant communication and updates with Head Coach
Academics
â?¢ Assist in Academic Achievement efforts
â?¢ Oversee and review frequent progress reporting
Fundraising and Special Events
â?¢ Assist in all fundraising events and activities assigned by the Athletic Director
and/or Head Coach
Game Day
â?¢ Assist in game plan and execution
â?¢ Setup and cleanup at home games
â?¢ Plan, execute and monitor game day warm-up and cool down
â?¢ Responsible for gathering accurate statistical data

Qualifications

â?¢ Associateâ??s degree or equivalent required.
â?¢ Experience coaching/playing in the sport, college level required.
â?¢ Ability to pass a background check.
â?¢ Have a valid driverâ??s license with a good driving record.
â?¢ Positive attitude
â?¢ Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
â?¢ Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision
â?¢ Regular, prompt & reliable attendance

Physical Demands

  • The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
