Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field preferred OR combined education and work experience. Master's degree preferred.
Licensure: N/A
Certification: N/A
Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analysis or data science roles preferred. Exposure to financial and operational data, medical records, and information management systems preferred.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis, performance measurement.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inform multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Looker, or Tableau.
- Familiarity with data platforms like such as Snowflake or Databricks is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R is preferred.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud preferred.
- Understanding of MLOps best practices for version control and product deployment preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms for regression, classification, and clustering preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data standards, privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and security best practices preferred.
Essential Job Functions
- Data Platform Development & Validation
- Assist in the setup, testing, and optimization of internal data platform.
- Validate data integrity between source systems and the data platform.
- Support the migration of existing analytics workflows and reports to the new data platform.
- Assist Data Engineering in the design and optimization of data pipelines to integrate data.
- Work closely with data engineers and IT teams to define data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
- Actively monitor and contain cloud resource utilization and expense through code efficiencies and deploying optimal solutions.
- Predictive Modeling, Machine Learning, & Advanced Analytics
- Develop and implement predictive models to improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and financial decision-making.
- Apply machine learning techniques (regression, classification, clustering, forecasting) to solve complex business problems.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Monitor, validate, and refine models to maintain accuracy and business relevance.
- Design enterprise dashboards which display company metrics with interactive, multi-dimensional visualization enabling stakeholder decision-making.
- Serve as a data strategist to identify and integrate new datasets that can be leveraged through our framework.
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including leadership, clinicians, and data professionals, to design and implement data-driven solutions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to address evolving healthcare information needs.
- Dedicate time toward the development of working relationships with stakeholders while promoting organizational data & analytics
- Promote data literacy and a self-service approach to data, enabling stakeholders to access information they need.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects supporting organizational objectives using project management and process improvement skills.
- Provide data support and feedback for various initiatives, including ongoing metrics and dashboards, performance improvement efforts, and business case analysis.
- Act as a key liaison between Data Science and leadership to align strategies with business goals.

- Lead assigned projects and team meetings while developing, mentoring and managing junior team members to ensure deliverable success and collaborative team culture of trust.
- Assist in Data & Analytics resource capacity planning and prioritization.
- Provide periodic report outs to Executive Leadership on Data Science initiatives and progress.
- Develop and implement models and strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Foster a team culture of continuous learning.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Contribute to business unit project prioritization conversations.
