Overview:

32 hrs/wk; 8a-5p, 4 days/wk. Knowledge and understanding of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding related to general surgery and wound care. Responsible for analyzing medical record then verifying assigned billing codes and modifiers are appropriate for medical coding requirements. Will work closely with the billing team and physicians to provide guidance and recommendations on medical coding best practices. Assist with resolving billing-related issues that may arise during claims processing. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when coding and processing claims. Provide effective communication and support performance improvement by assisting with audits, communicate industry updates related to coding, documentation criteria, or opportunities to further educate and support coding related items. Model the ICARE values, participate in team meetings and department goal setting. Certified medical coder with general surgery and wound care treatment knowledge preferred.
