RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assisting occupational/physical/speech therapists and therapist assistants to provide rehabilitative and technical care to the patient under the direction of licensed personnel.
  • Supports department by maintaining supply of clinical documentation and education forms.
  • Prepares program evaluation forms.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies.
  • Orders and tracks receipt of supplies.
  • Assists occupational/physical/speech therapists, therapist assistants and other treating personnel in patient treatment and/or evaluation.
  • Escorts/transports patients safely to and from therapy sessions within the facility.
  • Assists with patient group sessions as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Follows instruction from supervisor and occupational/physical/ speech therapist to perform other functions as assigned in order to achieve the goals within the department.
  • Communicates with patient, families and co-workers in a respectful manner to maintain a positive customer oriented approach.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-2 yearsâ?? experience as a physical therapy aide preferred.
  • CPR for Health Care Provider/CPR for Professional Rescuer required at time of hire or within 30 days from date of hire.
  • Incumbent must be 18 years of age or older.
  • May be required to drive a motor vehicle.  If required to drive, must have current valid driverâ??s license, must submit a copy of current driverâ??s abstract reflecting a good driving record, and have the required mobility needed to drive.
