Stephen Center has served homeless and low-income individuals in Omaha since 1984 with the mission to partner with the community, families and individuals to overcome homelessness, addiction and poverty. The Pettigrew Emergency Shelter and Permanent Supportive Housing offerings provide safe and secure housing while individuals and families complete an assessment of permanent housing options. All Stephen Center residents have access to dual diagnosis support services via the HERO addiction/recovery program. 100% of Stephen Center shelter supportive housing participants are living in poverty. Housing transition support identifies poverty barriers that may impact one’s ability to achieve or maintain permanent housing through case management, life skills, and behavioral health services. Stephen Center serves approximately 250 people daily in all programs. Purpose: The Donation Associate role is a hands-on position with the responsibility to help the Community Resource Coordinator accept and organize donations. The Donation Associate will work with the staff and volunteers to ensure that the dock and storage area remains clean and organized and donations are dealt with on a timely basis. The Donation Associate actively promotes Stephen Center’s mission to the community. The Donation Associate works with the Development Department to meet production goals. |
Key Accountabilities: To undertake all duties and interactions with employees, partner providers and customers fairly, without unlawful discrimination and with due regard to Stephen Center Policy. ·Practice sound inventory management. ·To assist in donation intake, organization and outflow. ·To perform general upkeep in the dock area to include sweeping, mopping, dusting, basic maintenance and outdoor clean up. ·Be prepared to work a flexible/on-call schedule as needed. ·Meet goals set by the Community Resource Coordinator. ·Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements: ·Conducts self in a manner of professionalism that is conducive to recovery from mental illness, co-occurring disorders and overall wellness, including a minimum of one year of continuous sobriety if in recovery, from the substance for which you are in recovery. ·Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements. ·An authentic and honest employee plays a key role in the client’s recovery.
