We are currently searching for a Full-Time ReStore Retail Sales Associate to join us in our mission of empowering others through shelter. As part of our Habitat Omaha ReStore team, you help us create an outstanding customer service experience that turns guests into loyal shoppers, while reducing the number of items going into landfills and generating revenue that goes back into Habitat for Humanity projects.

  • The ability to communicate and interact with guests to build an inclusive guest experience.
  • The ability to blend problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns. 
  • The ability to adapt to different guest interactions and situations.
  • Experience in selling products and promoting Habitat for Humanity of Omaha.

Hours of operation: Monday – Saturday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Location: 10910 Emmet Street. Near 108th & West Maple Road, Omaha, NE 68164.

Job Duties:

As a Retail Sales Associate, no two days are the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting every guest every time.
  • Make a connection with guests by engaging in friendly and genuine conversation throughout each transaction; asking open ended questions about the guest’s shopping experience and using those questions to assess, understand, and determine how to tailor your approach.
  • Scan all guest items efficiently and in compliance with the company’s best practices.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
  • Make the guest aware of current and upcoming sales, store activities, and events. 
  • Be familiar with the products sold.
  • Make it right for the guest by de-escalating any negative situations and recover the guest shopping experience while following Habitat Omaha ReStore’s policies and procedures.
  • Deliver easy and seamless service to all Donation Bay and in-store guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area.
  • Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guests.
  • Say thank you after every guest interaction and be sure every guest leaves satisfied with their shopping experience.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills: 

  • Communicating effectively, including using positive language and attentive to guests needs.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members.
  • Attention to detail while multi-tasking.
  • Willing to educate guests and sell products and services.
  • Learn and adapt to evolving technological needs.
  • Work both independently and with a team.
  • Accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions.
  • Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds. 
  • Flexible work schedule and regular attendance necessary.

The physical demands described here are representative of those met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit. They must reach with their hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds or more.
