Habitat for Humanity of Omaha is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of our HR Department. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the HR department and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role supports strategic initiatives by managing compensation and benefits administration, HR data and analytics, compliance, performance management, and employee relations. The HR Manager will also supervise the HR Associate and serve as a key partner in fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture.

Requirements

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Administration:

  • Administer salary, bonus, benefits programs, and 403(b) plan in coordination with internal and external partners.
  • Perform the end-to-end payroll process using Paylocity including preparation, validation, and submission.
  • Conduct compensation benchmarking and market analysis to support equitable and competitive pay practices.
  • Assist with annual headcount and personnel cost budgeting and FTE tracking.

HR Operations & Analytics:

  • Maintain and analyze HR data from systems such as HRIS, payroll, surveys, exit interviews, and industry benchmarks.
  • Generate reports and identify trends related to hiring, retention, benefits, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Present key findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Support day-to-day HR operations and ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.

Technology & Process Optimization:

  • Partner with the HRIS administrator and benefits broker to optimize use of systems and reporting tools.
  • Train staff on HR technology platforms and promote efficient, data-informed practices.

Employee Relations & Compliance:

  • Respond to employee inquiries and assist with employee relations matters including investigations and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct or assist in job classification audits and FLSA determinations.
  • Maintain data privacy and uphold confidentiality standards in all HR processes.

Performance Management & Strategic Support:

  • Coordinate the performance management process, including SMART goal setting and regular assessments.
  • Support the HR Director in executing strategic initiatives and organizational development priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties: 

  • Directly supervises the Human Resources Associate

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience in areas such as compensation, compliance, benefits, or employee relations
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in HRIS, payroll, and performance management systems (Paylocity experience preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
