The Financial Education Coordinator facilitates all required and desired educational opportunities to Habitat for Humanity of Omaha’s homeownership and owner-occupied program participants. Key aspects of this role are developing, delivering and overseeing financial and homebuyer education that is aimed at improving financial literacy and well-being among Homeowner Participants. This role will conduct in-home educational programming and build strong external partnerships. The financial Education Coordinator plays a crucial role in equipping homeowner participants with the knowledge and skills to make informed financial decisions, ultimately contributing to the financial well-being and stability of Homeownership. 

Requirements

Principle Duties: 

  • Coordinates and facilitates, regular and as needed culturally and linguistically competent home buyer and financial management educational classes
  • Conducts individual pre and post close walkthrough education in partnership with the Warranty Team
  • Provides education to program participants on meeting the ‘Sweat Equity’ requirements of the homeownership program
  • Develops and maintains educational opportunities on our website
  • Develops and maintains key educational partnership opportunities with other organizations
  • Ensure program data is accurate and available for timely cross-departmental reporting
  • Coordinates and provides any data needed by Family Services and the Mortgage team to maintain compliance with loan regulations 
  • Maintains current certifications and industry knowledge through research, workshops, training and required compliance
  • Other duties as assigned 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 2-4 years of adult education, and financial coaching in a client-facing role 
  • Strong Knowledge of financial concepts, including budgeting, savings, and debt management
  • Knowledge of homeownership and homebuyer processes; realtor experience would be an aid
  • Experience with low to moderate income populations preferred
  • Experience in adult education, curriculum development, including training content and facilitation required
  • MS Office suite and database experience required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required; bilingual is a plus
  • Outstanding customer service skills with diverse, multi-lingual populations and organizational partners
  • Highly self-motivated and organized towards team success including organizational goals and individual professional development goals
  • Must meet QLO certification/ background requirements within the first 30 days of employment
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines
