Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is hiring a dynamic Engineering Specialist within our Hardware Product Development Engineering team. The Engineering Specialist will be responsible for tasks ranging from high level Technician duties to low level Engineering duties. These will include building and testing hardware and firmware. Script writing for product testing. Leading Engineering lab related initiatives such as 6S and Safety. Troubleshooting product and test related issues independently. The Engineering Specialist will have experience of new product development and work with Test, Design, Quality Engineering teams, Product Managers, and customers as necessary. The ideal candidate will enjoy hands on work in a fast-paced design environment. They will be responsible for maintaining our Altium Library and standards. This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Hardware Engineering which is responsible for electronic product design for our three market segments.

Position Details

This is a full-time, Olathe, KS based position. Expected travel required: < 25%.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of Hardware design support for the Hardware product development group
  • Lead 6S and safety initiatives within the Engineering lab
  • Develop test scripts for testing and troubleshooting new and existing designs
  • Working closely with Test and Product Engineering, develop tools for conducting testing, including procedures, calibration, and verification of test equipment and instrumentation
  • Interfacing with various engineering/product management resources as needed to support the operation of our products
  • Support Engineering with redesign tasks, document writing and testing as necessary to maximize Engineers time
  • Setting up hands-on demos for testing and troubleshooting purposes
  • Maintain PCB footprint library

Preferred Qualifications

  • AS degree with Technical On-the-Job Training
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical engineering experience, testing, troubleshooting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Proficient on MS office
  • Understanding of a scripting language such as Python
  • Experience using various test equipment. Digital Multi Meter, Oscilloscope and Signal Generators, etc.
  • Expert technical understanding of Electricity and Electronic products
  • Basic understanding of Cellular IIOT devices
  • Experience using Defect Tracking Tools such as JIRA
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer or similar
