Position Summary: The Rehab Aide, plays a critical role in supporting physical and occupational therapists by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment, assisting with patient care under therapist supervision, and performing various operational tasks. This role is ideal for proactive individuals who excel at multitasking and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Position requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent - required.

Licensure: N/A

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire.

Experience: Any customer service experience preferred.

  • Must be able to work from detailed verbal or written instructions and uses judgment for routine situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve through a well-defined approach.

  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks and prioritize activities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with set up of patient treatment under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist
  • Cleans all equipment, mats and other items involved in patient care after each patient use according to approved infection control guidelines
  • Monitor inventory and reorder in a timely manner.
  • Restock treatment rooms/supply closet in a timely manner
  • Assist with scheduling patients and answering phones when appropriate
  • Communicates patient needs effectively and establishes a professional relationship with healthcare team
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings.
  • Attend mandatory educational programs.
  • Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Employee is responsible for all other duties as assigned for which competency has been demonstrated

Physical requirements: This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
