Position Summary: The Lead Therapist, This position combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities for on-site staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and contributing to the clinic's overall success. Position requirements

Education: Graduate of an approved program for Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy - required

Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Nebraska and/or Iowa. - required

Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of hire. - required

Advanced clinical certification - preferred.

Experience: 3+ years' experience as a physical or occupational therapist in either acute or outpatient environment. - required. Prior management experience - preferred.

  • Ability to instruct and collaborate with others.
  • Strong team orientation.
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks and prioritize activities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis, performance measurement, and the use of quality improvement tools is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide and Supervise quality patient care by following established guidelines
  • Monitor performance of all levels of clinical staff by data collection, coaching, education and role modeling to ensure ongoing performance improvement
  • Problem solve and make decisions within area of accountability to ensure effective and efficient patient care.
  • Responsible for day-to-day staffing. Ensure financial accountability of department through monitoring patient volumes and adjusting staff levels accordingly.
  • Monitor inventory levels of patient care supplies. Responsible for initial approval of supplies.
  • Coordinates and conducts department orientation, training and competencies for therapy staff.
  • Mentor staff in areas of patient care, patient interaction and physician communication
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Employee is responsible for all other duties as assigned for which competency has been demonstrated.

Physical Requirements: This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
