About this Opportunity:

As a Senior Director, Business Intelligence, you will be a hands-on leader who will own building the strategy and vision for the use of data and analytics across Orion and champion its use.This role will lead a team (direct reports include multiple directors and managers) whose mission is to provide access to actionable data designed to deliver insight that will lead to improved business decision making and support high growth for Orion and its customers.They will also lead data governance throughout the firm and evolve data warehouse architecture with the growing business needs.As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.

For External Candidates:
Candidates must work in-office at one of the following locations for at least 3 days per week: Omaha, NE; Sacramento, CA; Hebron, KY; Chandler, AZ; Provo, UT.

In this role, you'll get to:

  • Develop and implement vision and strategy for data warehousing, business analytics, and data governance

  • Build & lead teams of developers, analysts and other business intelligence professionals that will help uncover business insights and guide decision making

  • Build & lead a governance and quality organization to enable wider use of data for decisions making

  • Create and enhance data infrastructure of scalable and secure platforms to enable foundational analysis and reporting capabilities, including on premise and cloud-based solutions

  • Champion the effective use of data across the Orion organization and drive a culture of data-informed decision making.Facilitate quarterly BI steering committee (cross-functional group of executives from across the firm) to prioritize BI projects to align with corporate strategies

  • Drive the adoption of business intelligence initiatives and strategies across the business by championing new and innovative techniques and approaches that will best utilize available data to answer key business questions

  • Ensure best practices are established and maintained for all key business intelligence and data management procedures, architecture, and standards

  • Enable dashboards and scorecards to drive more informed decision making across all levels of the organization

  • Partner with Product and Technology group in designing secure client facing business intelligence systems that will manage and report on the data of our clients (i.e. Trends database)

  • Work directly with CFO and Chief Product & Technology Officer on occasion

We're looking for talent who:

  • Has demonstrated experience using complex data sets and building impactful analytics frameworks that scale

  • Possess superior ability to collaborate, influence, and communicate at all levels, including C-suite executives, with clarity, poise, and precision both written and verbal

  • Has strong technical knowledge of data management systems, data governance, data quality and data warehousing methodology

  • Is highly skilled in communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience

  • Has demonstrated experience solving problems using data and providing business insights that drive operational improvements

  • Has bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Statistics, Applied Math, Business Administration, or related field and preferably a postgraduate degree in related field highly

  • Obtain Orion Industry certification

  • Has minimum of 10 years of professional experience working in data and analytics

  • Possess minimum of 5 years of experience building, and leading data teams

  • Has minimum of 5 years hands on experience working with large and complex data sets

  • Possess minimum of 5 years of leading cross functional project teams

  • Possess minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Power BI or equivalent visualization tool

  • Has SQL proficiency with 5+ years of hands-on experience

  • Is proficient in MS office suite of tools required, including mastery of Excel and PowerPoint

  • Preferably proficient in Azure data toolset strongly

  • Preferably has Familiarity with Data Lakehouse

  • Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization

Salary Range:

$140,935.00 - $226,905.00

The pay listed in this posting indicates the estimated pay at the time of this posting; however, may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
