Youth Support Specialist - PMIC

Being part of Team Children’s, you will be cross-trained to also work in our Youth Shelter and Crisis Stabilization facility.

This position is for Back End Shift working Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 2:00pm to 11:00pm

Join our growing team as a Youth Support Specialist specifically in our PMIC facility focusing on providing services to children and teenagers with a traumatic background. This role includes ensuring safety, skill-building, processing and support, behavioral management, and fostering effective communication within the team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized reinforcement to promote adaptive behaviors.
  • Utilize behavior management techniques and de-escalation training.
  • Assist clients in self-identifying and self-correcting behaviors.
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect.
  • Follow medication management guidelines.
  • Serve as a positive role model and agent of change for the youth.
  • Complete timely documentation of services, including daily case notes.

 

Position Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older, preferably 21+
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Higher starting pay for individuals with a Bachelor’s degree
  • 1+ years formal experience working with youth - preferably with at-risk youth.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a passion for helping youth in crisis.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass criminal history, child abuse, and sex offender checks and complete a physical and TB test.
