The controller is a senior level leadership role that supports all financial accounting and reporting activities. This position is responsible for the internal and external financial reporting requirements and design and effectiveness of internal controls to support compliance with all GAAP, regulatory and Sarbanes/Oxley requirements for BHE Pipeline Group.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Coordinate the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close activities for BHE Pipeline Group.
Coordinate external audit activities.
Develop and monitor effective internal controls over financial reporting.
Design systems and processes to ensure compliance with all accounting procedures and policies.
Lead the preparation and consolidation of monthly financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.
Review and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results from plan, forecast and prior periods.
Lead the preparation of annual and quarterly bondholder reports and compliance certifications. Support tax filings and ensure all tax filings of affiliates and subsidiaries are completed in a timely and complete matter incorporating all appropriate and known business information. Additionally, provide input and review of monthly corporate income tax provisions.
Support financing efforts with outside investors working with BHE treasury which includes maintaining financing plans to meet business objectives and leading financing efforts of subsidiary and affiliate project companies as required.
Organize and plan team responsibilities to provide effective support for new business initiatives.
Provide technical support to ensure accurate accounting and disclosure for complex commercial contracts and complex acquisition and divesture transactions.
Provide effective management of the accounting team, including ensuring employee safety, robust selection, development and mentoring of employees and equitable and fair salary administration.
Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned by the chief financial officer.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration or related field. CPA preferred. Eight years of relevant accounting experience, including three years supervisory/ management responsibilities required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects concurrently.
