Immanuel Communities is seeking a Culinary Development Training Manager to work atImmanuel Home Office located at 1044 North 115th Street, Omaha, NE 68154. This position requires the ability to travel to all Immanuel locations in Omaha, Lincoln, and Des Moines.

Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

Job Duties & Skills Required:

What You Will Do

The overall purpose of this job is to shape our culinary hospitality training initiatives across multiple retirement living communities including, Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support and Long Term Care. This role oversees the training and development of culinary staff, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills to meet the high standards of culinary excellence in the organization. The primary responsibilities of this job include identifying training needs, developing and updating training materials, creating training schedules, and conducting hands-on training sessions. The Hospitality Training Manager must also stay abreast of the latest culinary trends and techniques to incorporate them into the training curriculum.

Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

Hospitality

Operations

  • Partners with Culinary Leadership to positively impact day-to-day culinary operations.
  • Works to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, ultimately leading to an exceptional dining experience for customers.
  • Identify areas for improvement regarding uniformity, consistency, and standards across the organization.

Training

  • Develop and implement comprehensive hospitality training programs for all staff members, including front-line employees, managers, and support staff.
  • Effectively train and support staff in delivering quality service, and sincere hospitality to our residents.
  • Collaborate with department heads and regional managers to identify training needs and develop tailored training plans to address specific areas for improvement.
  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions on topics such as customer service, dining etiquette, safety procedures, and hospitality standards.
  • Utilize a variety of training methods, including in-person workshops, online modules, and hands-on demonstrations, to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to staff members to reinforce training concepts and encourage a culture of excellence in hospitality.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to hospitality training and incorporate relevant advancements into training programs.

Skills & Requirements

Education-

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent years of experience may substitute for education requirement.

Experience-

  • Five (5) years of experience in hospitality training or management, preferably in a senior living or retirement community setting.
  • Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel to multiple locations within the region as needed for training purposes.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for serving seniors and enhancing their quality of life through exceptional hospitality.

KSA- Knowledge Skills and Abilities-

  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve excellence in service delivery.
  • Knowledge of the science and art of delivering information.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing effective training programs, including curriculum design, delivery methods, and evaluation strategies.
  • Proficiency with training software, learning management systems, and other technological tools to facilitate training delivery and documentation.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Clear and effective communication with both kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
  • Aptitude for addressing issues promptly and making critical decisions.
  • Ability to persuade others to change their minds or behavior.
  • Skills in using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
