Primary Function: This position recruits and enrolls students into Bellevue University’s courses and programs by using effective enrollment management consultative sales techniques and excellent customer service skillsets. The incumbent actively engages prospective students in a dialogue using email, telephone and personal interview delivery methods. The focus is placed on building strong relationships with students through consultative services to identify and understand their needs, ensure timely responses to questions and deliver ongoing follow up to assist students in all phases of enrollment which include identifying what financial resources will be used to fund their education.  This position will coordinate with offices handling financial aid, transcript and application processing, student financial services, and student accounts to assure that students encounter streamlined and user-friendly processes when pursuing and completing a Bellevue University course, program, or degree.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Sales & Customer Service Functions

  • Uses effective enrollment management procedures and providing high quality customer service to students:
  • Uses good consultative sales techniques and customer account management to handle inquiries and university prospects through interviews
  • Provides knowledgeable assistance in developing an educational plan for prospective students looking to earn their degree
  • Builds and maintains relationships with students, and university support departments 
  • Identifies financial needs and explains the financial planning process, to include financial aid and eligibility.  Explains financial and scholarship application processes and other applicable paperwork to those applying for financial service/lending.
  • Works to ensure that enrollment goals, institutional retention expectations, and net promoter scores are met
  • Provides students with a Professional College Advisory Session that delivers a personalized degree plan and discussion regarding an effective, realistic approach to finish all necessary degree requirements along with options insuring the student and university are a perfect fit.
  • Maintains close working relations with relevant offices including financial aid, registrar, business office, faculty and staff to ensure smooth process for students and to provide accurate information to students on contract process and expectations.
  • Conducts intent calling and inquiry follow up on an ongoing basis.
  • Interviews prospective students and guardians to identify financial needs and explains the financial planning process, to include financial aid and eligibility. 
  • Distributes and explains financial and scholarship applications and other applicable paperwork to those applying for financial service/lending. 
  • Counsels and advises students on their educational (i.e., student status, grades, etc.) and financial responsibilities.
  • Keeps apprised in area of expertise and continuously looks for opportunities to improve processes and system efficiency/effectiveness to improve the quality of service to the customers served.
  • Completes the annual federal student aid basic E-learning modules to keep current on their annual recertification.
  • Collaborate with the financial aid office to ensure accurate and timely processing of aid packages.
  • Counselors guide students in estimating college costs and creating budgets.

 

Administrative Functions

  • Enters student data in an accurate and timely manning in University information systems.
  • Receives and tracks student information for student financial aid records while ensuring information is accurate and complete and distributed appropriately.

 

Marginal Functions:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in recruiting or sales position, preferably in college environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication skills needed to assist prospective students and facilitate resolution to problems.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish highly desired.
  • Detail orientation and good organizational skills.
  • Must be adaptable and have the ability to self-initiate and manage a diverse set of activities.
  • Requires the ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality in the handling of account and student information.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while producing timely quality work. 
  • Ability to work independently, but as part of team concept.
  • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products.
